Position Title: Fundraising Director
The Fundraising Director will play a key role in building and strengthening the links to potential donors for the purpose of significantly increasing philanthropic revenue. The Fundraising Director is primarily responsible for working with the Executive Director in all aspects of donor relations with respect to acquiring and cultivated donors in the business segment, including private and public corporations. Second, as determined by the Executive Director, the Fundraising Director will participate in activities designed to acquire and cultivate major gift donors at the individual/household level. Third, the Fundraising Director will be responsible for planning and executing outreach and publicity activities, including an annual fundraising event.
Fundraising Director Duties and Responsibilities:
Research potential new donors, including corporations, hospitals, other nonprofits, churches, and wealthy individuals.
Develop strategies to cultivate relationships with potential new donors having a high probability of alignment with the Medical Cannabis Society’s mission and goals.
Maintain ongoing communications with donors.
Represent the Medical Cannabis Society at appropriate business development venues such as Chamber of Commerce, Leadership, and civic organization venues.
Provide timely and accurate activity and result reports to the Executive Director.
Collaborate with Development staff on the planning and hosting of fundraising events and donor receptions.
Fundraising Director Qualifications:
A college degree is required. The ability to work well on a team is essential and leadership skills are beneficial. Willingness to promote the principles and values of the Medical Cannabis Society. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience. Ability to inspire and motivate others to support the organization’s goals and objectives. Ability to communicate in writing and orally with sponsors, management and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is crucial. Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
